Seafood marketing is a complex and often confusing world. No one organization or company knows it all or does it all. However, a good first step to being successful in seafood marketing is to understand what it means to market products, the structure and expectations within the seafood market, and the organizations in Alaska that work in the marketing world.

Marketing consists of individual and organizational activities that facilitate and expedite satisfying exchange relationships in a dynamic environment through the creation, distribution, promotion, and pricing of goods, services and ideas.

--- Pride/Ferrill, 1987

This definition lays out broad parameters to look at marketing. This web site intent is to provide a number of examples and helpful tools to make sense of this complex side of business.
