In the interest of the public safety the Board of Chiropractic Examiners adopts regulations governing the practice of chiropractic in Alaska.

The Board makes final licensing decision and takes disciplinary actions against person who violate licensing laws.

The Board of Chiropractic Examiners is staffed by the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing.

The Board of Chiropractic Examiners consist of four licensed chiropractic physicians and one public member.

Board members are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Legislature.

The Board meets a minimum of two times a year and offers a public comment period at each meeting.  Meeting agendas are available from the licensing examiner.

Complaints/Peer Review

To file a complaint or to bring a matter pertaining to the actions of a licensed, or unlicensed, chiropractor to the attention of the Board, please use the following form to request a Peer Review:

The purpose of the Peer Review Committee is to review complaints concerning the reasonableness or appropriateness of care provided, fees charged, and/or costs for services rendered by a licensee to a patient. The Committee will act in an advisory capacity to the Board.

You may also file a complaint with the Investigations staff. To bring a matter pertaining to the actions of a licensed, or unlicensed, professional to the attention of our investigative staff, call (907) 269-8437 for a complaint packet to be sent to you.

 
BE ADVISED

The Board will seek maximum penalties of licensed chiropractic physicians who are not licensed to practice chiropractic or found to be in violation of any
state statute or regulation pertaining to the practice of chiropractic in Alaska.
