CSBS seeks comments on background check policies
On behalf of the state regulators participating in NMLS, CSBS is inviting comment on the policies related to background check and credit report processing in NMLS. The comment deadline is Wednesday, October 14, 2009.  For more information click on the NMLS link provided on our website under the NMLS logo.

SAFE National Test
The SAFE Act requires that state-licensed loan originators pass a qualified written test developed by NMLS and administered by an approved test provider.   The National test is now available.  For more information click on the NMLS link provided on our website under the NMLS logo.  Testing information is provided under “Professional Requirements”.

Please note in Alaska for the State Component Test mortgage loan  originators who have successfully passed the “Alaska Mortgage Originators” competency test, administered through Pearson Vue for the State of Alaska, will be considered to have met the requirements for state mortgage test.

Pre-Licensing Education Courses
The SAFE Act requires that state-licensed mortgage loan originators (MLOs) complete pre-licensure  education. In order to meet pre-licensure continuing education requirements state-licensed MLOs must complete 20 hours of NMLS approved education.
