Community Quota Entity (CQE)
The Division is now accepting loan applications under
the new CQE program. This program allows eligible communities to form non-profit corporations, purchase
halibut and sablefish quota shares and then lease the quota back to local resident fishermen. Governor
Murkowski sponsored legislation that allows the Division to provide financing under the Commercial
Fishing Revolving Loan Fund to communities that wish to participate in the CQE program. Information
