TO: All Producers and Insurers Writing Workers’ Compensation Insurance in the State of Alaska and Other Interested Parties
RE: Withdrawal of the 1998 Revised Rates and Rating Values of the National Council on Compensation Insurance, Inc.
The Alaska Division of Insurance approved the request for withdrawal of the 1998 Revised Rates and Rating Values of the National Council on Compensation Insurance, Inc. (NCCI), effective March 15, 1999.
Since Alaska has adopted a prospective loss cost rating system, all members and subscribers of NCCI who write workers’ compensation insurance in Alaska now must use the 1999 NCCI Voluntary Loss Costs. Any insurer who has not yet complied with the filing requirements of 3 AAC 29.220 and who continues to write workers’ compensation insurance using the 1998 NCCI rates is in violation of Alaska insurance law.
