BULLETIN B99-02 TO: All Insurance Companies and Insurance Producers Writing Health Insurance in Alaska and Other Interested Parties RE: Coordination of Benefits This bulletin is issued for the purpose of rescinding the following bulletins:
Alaska Statute 21.42.205, which became effective July 1, 1997, requires an insurer doing business in this state to include a coordination of benefits provision in a major medical policy or contract. The director will soon propose regulations, including a regulation that adopts the "birth date" rule, to implement and interpret this statute. DATED: January 20, 1999.
