City of Petersburg Annexation Petition Withdrawn
On May 15, 2006, the City of Petersburg City Council passed "Resolution #1795, A Resolution Withdrawing the City's Petition to the Local Boundary Commission . . . " The City Council resolved that in order to preserve the surrounding area's cultural, education and economic identification, the City withdraw its petition and further resolved that the City intends to pursue Home Rule Borough formation. No further action will be taken by the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development or the Local Boundary Commission on this Annexation petition.
