Program Goals:
To provide financial assistance to states and political subdivisions for the preparation of statewide recreation plans and acquisition and development of outdoor recreation areas and facilities.
Resource Provided:
Project Grants. 50% state or political subdivision match.
Eligibility:
Only state agencies eligible for statewide planning money (requires the existence of a state plan and state liaison officer). For acquisition and development money, the state, cities, federally-recognized Indian tribes, and entities that have state designation as sub-state jurisdictions are eligible.
Alaska Program Status:
DNR manages the State of Alaska program. Funding for FY09 was $245,415.
Comments:
50% local match is required. DNR provides notification of program availability.
