lies at approximately 60.528880° North Latitude

| History, Culture
and Demographics |
| The area has historically been the home of Kenaitze Indians, although it was developed by non-Natives for the rich resources of the Peninsula.
The population of the community consists of 7.9%
Alaska Native or part Native.
Ridgeway is a geographic area between two very large cities on the Kenai Peninsula. Most residents are non-Native.
During the 2000 U.S. Census,
total housing units numbered 938, and vacant housing units numbered 223.
Vacant housing units used
only seasonally numbered 163.
U.S. Census data for Year
2000 showed 887 residents
as employed. The unemployment rate at that time was
1.44 percent,
although
41.02 percent of
all adults were not in the work force. The median household
income was $50,625, per capita income was $23,225, and
9.42 percent of residents
were living below the poverty level.

Utilities, Schools and Health Care |
| Approximately 90% of homes use individual water wells and septic tank systems, and are fully plumbed. The Borough provides a landfill at mile 98.5 Sterling Hwy., in Soldotna, and refuse transfer sites are available in Kenai and Sterling.
Electricity is provided by Homer Electric Association.
There are no state operated schools located in the community.
Local hospitals or health clinics include Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna (262-4404).
Ridgeway is classified as a highway town/Sub-Regional Center, it is found in EMS Region 2J in the Kenai Peninsula Region. Emergency Services have highway and helicopter access, and are within 30 minutes of a higher-level satellite health care facility. Emergency service is provided by paid EMS Service
Auxiliary health care is provided by Central Emergency Services (262-4792/4453) and Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna.

and Transportation |
The economy of the Kenai area is diverse: oil and gas processing, timber, commercial and sport fishing, government, retail businesses and tourism-related services provide employment.
The Sterling Highway provides access to Anchorage and the statewide road system. Kenai transportation facilities include a dock and airport. Mackey's Lake is in the area to serve floatplanes. |
