Port Clarence is west of Teller on the Seward Peninsula. It was built on the northern tip of a sand spit in Port Clarence. The community
lies at approximately 65.262220° North Latitude
and -166.845830° West Longitude.

Cape Nome Recording District.
The Seward Peninsula has a maritime climate with continental influences when the Bering Sea freezes. Summer temperatures average 44 to 57; winter temperatures average from -9 to 8. Annual precipitation is 11.5 inches, with 50 inches of snowfall. |

| The 1893 U.S. Census listed a collective village at this site with a population of 485, of which 236 were native and 249 were foreign. Their descendants are the residents of nearby Brevig Mission, Teller, and Wales. Port Clarence is currently a Coast Guard LORAN station.

| The Station operates a piped water and sewer system. All residents live in private rooms in group quarters. A 250,000-gal. tank holds filtered and chlorinated water. The sewage system is a slurry holding and processing tank with a leachfield.
Electricity is provided by U.S. Coast Guard Generator.
There are no state operated schools located in the community.
Local hospitals or health clinics include U.S.C.G. staff.
