Fritz Creek is located 7 miles northeast of Homer, on the north shore of Kachemak Bay, off the Sterling Highway. It lies at the foot of Bald Mountain. The community
lies at approximately 59.748420° North Latitude
and -151.277800° West Longitude.

| The local name was first reported in 1904 by R.W. Stone of the U.S. Geological Survey.
The population of the community consists of 5.1%
Alaska Native or part Native.
Fritz Creek is best characterized as a geographic location rather than a community. Most residents are non-Native.
During the 2000 U.S. Census,
total housing units numbered 854, and vacant housing units numbered 193.
Vacant housing units used
only seasonally numbered 152.
U.S. Census data for Year
2000 showed 740 residents
as employed. The unemployment rate at that time was
13.35 percent,
although
37.87 percent of
all adults were not in the work force. The median household
income was $41,400, per capita income was $18,937, and
9.65 percent of residents
were living below the poverty level.

| The majority of homes haul or have water delivered, or use individual well water. Most have individual septic systems for sewage disposal; the remainder use privies. 60 to 70% of households are fully plumbed. The Borough provides refuse transfer station in Anchor Point, at mile 157 Sterling Hwy., or Homer sanitation facilities are used.
Electricity is provided by Homer Electric Association.
There is one school located in the community,
attended by 93
students.
