Four Mile Road is located just north of Nenana, in Interior Alaska, about 50 miles southwest of Fairbanks on the George Parks Highway. The community
lies at approximately 64.600280° North Latitude
and -149.117930° West Longitude.

The area has a cold, continental climate with an extreme temperature range. The average daily maximum during summer months is 65 to 70; the daily minimum during winter is well below zero. The highest temperature ever recorded is 98; the lowest is -69. Average precipitation is 11.4 inches, with 48.9 inches of snowfall annually. |

| Four Mile Road is located in the western-most portion of Tanana Athabascan Indian territory. The area has growth from development in Nenana.
The population of the community consists of 26.3%
Alaska Native or part Native.
One-fourth of residents are Native.
During the 2000 U.S. Census,
total housing units numbered 19, and vacant housing units numbered 3.

| Less than half of the homes in this community have complete plumbing. Nenana area residents use the Denali Borough regional landfill for refuse disposal.
Electricity is provided by Golden Valley Electric Association.
There are no state operated schools located in the community.

Most residents are employed in Nenana, which offers a strong private sector economy as the center of rail-to-river barge transportation center for the Interior.
Nearby Nenana has excellent air, river, road and railroad access. The George Parks Highway provides road access to Fairbanks and Anchorage. The railroad provides daily freight service. The Nenana Municipal Airport offers a lighted runway, with float plane and ski plane landing areas. The Nenana Port Authority operates the dry cargo loading and unloading facilities, dock, bulkhead, and warehouse. |
