Located on the Kenai Peninsula, Clam Gulch lies on the Sterling Highway 24 miles south of the City of Kenai. The community
lies at approximately 60.231110° North Latitude
and -151.393610° West Longitude.

| History, Culture
and Demographics |
| Reported in 1947 by Barnes and Cobb of the U.S. Geological Survey, it was named after the Clam Gulch ravine. A post office was established in 1950.
The population of the community consists of 5.8%
Alaska Native or part Native.
Clam Gulch is best characterized as a roadside development with a primarily non-Native population.
During the 2000 U.S. Census,
total housing units numbered 115, and vacant housing units numbered 48.
Vacant housing units used
only seasonally numbered 41.
U.S. Census data for Year
2000 showed 57 residents
as employed. The unemployment rate at that time was
26.92 percent,
although
58.39 percent of
all adults were not in the work force. The median household
income was $37,500, per capita income was $17,983, and
8.06 percent of residents
were living below the poverty level.

Utilities, Schools and Health Care |
| Many homes use individual wells and septic systems. However, nearly one-third are deriving water from a central watering point or water delivery. Over half of all homes use privies, and more than one-half are fully plumbed. Borough refuse transfer sites are available in Ninilchik (mi. 138.5 Sterling Hwy.) or in Kasilof (mi. 110.4 Sterling Hwy.)
Electricity is provided by Homer Electric Association.
There are no state operated schools located in the community.
Local hospitals or health clinics include Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna (907-262-4404).
