Chinook Salmon Direct Distribution Program
State of Alaska > Commerce > DCRA >Chinook Salmon Direct Distribution Program

Funding for this program was allocated by congress to help mitigate the economic impacts to salmon troll fishermen from reductions in Southeast Alaska chinook salmon harvests under the revised Pacific Salmon Treaty.

Persons who held and/or fished a 2009 Alaska salmon hand troll or power troll permit may be eligible for direct payments from these funds.

Details about the program are contained in the Application Cover Letter. To be eligible you must complete the application and submit it to the Division of Community and Regional Affairs by February 25, 2011. If your name was on record for a 2009 Alaska salmon hand troll or power troll permit, you were mailed a pre-printed application from the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission(CFEC). The pre-printed application contains your CFEC address of record, your 2009 hand or power troll permit status, and your 2009 Chinook salmon harvest information. If you have not received this application, or the application was sent to an address that you do not have timely access to, you may download a blank application here.

To qualify, your application must be received in DCRA's Juneau office by February 25, 2011.

Payments to qualified applicants are anticipated to be sent out in April, 2011.

A copy of the regulations for the program are available here.
