Amanda Ryder was appointed Director of the Division of Administrative Services in May of 2008.  Prior to her appointment, Ms. Ryder served as the Operating Budget Coordinator at Legislative Finance.  In this role, she was the analyst responsible for the development of the operating and supplemental budget bills and the division’s publications. She worked closely with the House and Senate Finance Committees, finance subcommittees, and was responsible for coordinating the division’s statewide research projects. She holds a Bachelor of Business Management from the University of Alaska Southeast.

Ms. Ryder moved to Alaska with her family in 1978 from Charleston, South Carolina.  She lived in a rural community in Southeast for eight years, where she met and married her husband Mark, who runs a construction company in Juneau. Ms. Ryder also lived in Wrangell for four years before moving to Juneau in 1990.  She and her husband have two children and, in her free time, Ms. Ryder enjoys reading, softball, volleyball, traveling and spending time with friends.
